Life as Vibration
Life Is Vibration!
When I began my study of alternative medicine 35 years ago, I could not imagine where my path would lead. An early dive into quantum physics set me up for the concept that we are all composed of vibrational energy. That within every cell of our being there is really more space than mass, despite our perception of being dense and solid beings. And, within all that emptiness what creates existence, sentience, life, is merely vibration. Just that concept alone was enough for me to ask: How do we exist? Are we truly just energy vibrating at specific rates, and if so, how easy is it to change that vibration?
Change our bodies, our circumstances? Can we bring about balance in our thoughts and our minds? And not just for our mental health, but also our physical health. And what is healing, true, lasting, eternal healing? What I have learned through these years is that ailment, any kind of physical pain, illness, disease, is essentially a manifestation of what has been in our vibrational field for some time. Sometimes for a very long time. So, do our thoughts truly create our reality?
Acupuncture is a very subtle modality of medicine. It is not just about the ability to take away pain, though often that can be immediate and extreme, but what acupuncture can provide to all the systems of the body, is profound. Regular treatment over consecutive intervals can give one a body that is free from the most common side effects of living in the twenty-first century. No more antacids for stomach issues, or laxatives for bowel movements, sleep becomes a welcomed event, and mood and energy levels can significantly improve. Patients who see me on a consistent basis, monthly, bi-monthly or even every six months find they end up not having near the issues that were present when they first started coming. And all those diagnosis they have been labelled to have, often times just fade away.
In school, our professors told us, “If you can get people interested in acupuncture in their 20s and have them come on a regular basis. By the time they are in their 70s they will not have the problems that most people end up with.” Of course, one does have to be cognizant of taking care of yourself. The axioms we are what we eat, and a sedentary lifestyle is the new smoking, do ring true. Acupuncture is all about getting the Qi (energy) to move in the body, in a correct manner. Keeping it moving physically through activity is just another piece of the puzzle to bring about a healthy life.
